McFeetors Heavy Horse Centre
Located in the north area of the Zoo, the McFeetors Heavy Horse Centre covers 4.7 acres and is currently home to majestic Percheron horses. The year-round exhibit includes a barn, pastures, paddocks and a carriage shed. Visitors to the Zoo can tour the beautiful barn and learn about the pioneer era of our province’s history, when heavy horse power was relied on in industries such as agriculture, forestry, mining, and road construction.
Wagon rides are currently unavailable.
Heavy Horses
The McFeetors Heavy Horse Centre is currently home to two breeds:
Percheron Draft Horse (Equus caballus)
Clydesdale Draft Horse (Equus caballus)
